Charles Leroy Hartman
COFFEEN – Charles Chick Leroy Hartman, 66, of Coffeen died Monday, June 28, 2010, at 11:45 a.m. at Doctors Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, July 9, 2010, from 9 a.m. until time of service at Staab Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2010, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
He was born March 26, 1944, in Vandalia, the son of William and Ruth Catherine (Worley) Hartman. Throughout most of his life, he has lived in central Illinois.
Mr. Hartman served in the Army in Germany. He worked for the railroad, drove a city bus for SMTD and also worked at STABB Battery. He was a member of Litchfield Moose Club and was a lifetime member of the Litchfield VFW.
He enjoyed fishing, pitching horseshoes, raising chickens, telling jokes and playing shuffleboard. He was an avid Cardinals fan and loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda (Thomsen) Hartman; 9 children; 5 stepchildren; many grandchildren; and 4 siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter; two brothers; and two sisters.
