Charles L. “Charlie” Lash, 69, of Springfield, died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Life’s Journey Senior Living in Taylorville.  He was born December 31, 1950 in Taylorville, to Ferdie and Della Manion Lash.  He married Rhonda Jackson on June 19, 1971 and she preceded him in death on December 4, 2004.

Survivors include two daughters, Crystal (Eric) Womack of Williamsville and Marley (Kelly) Fank of Kincaid; one grandson Billy (fiancé’ Meredith) Womack of Rochester; one great grandchild; one sister, Rose Proctor; two brothers David (Debbie) Lash and Bobby (Terry) Lash and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parent’s; wife; two sisters, Frances DeMay and Betty Malone; two brothers, Donald Gene and Russell Lash.

Charlie was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War, where he received a Purple Heart Medal.  He worked as a small engine mechanic at R W Bradley in Springfield for over twenty years.

He enjoyed fishing, assembling model trains and greatly enjoyed the outdoors with his grandson.

Private Graveside Service: At Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

CDC Protocol shall be followed.
