Charles E. Besjak, 83, of Loami, died at 5:45 am, Friday, December 4, 2015 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born February 27, 1932 in Springfield, to Frank and Mary Knaus Besjak. He married Carole L. Forgas on January 7, 1956 and she survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Charlene Frank of Springfield, Mary (Brett) Bolan of Centerville, OH and Stacey (Neal) Malone of Springfield; three sons, Andrew Besjak of Loami, Joe (Cindy) Besjak of Auburn and Charles (Jayne) Besjak of Watchung, NJ; 17 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank Besjak and two sisters, Mary Palmer and Fannie McKinzie.

Charles was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked as an associate in the Automotive Department for Sears from 1958 – 1992. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was a longtime member of the Pana Prayer Group. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening; spending time with his family and going to his grandkids events.

Visitation: 5-7 pm, Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 4:45 pm.

Funeral Mass: 10 am, Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Jeff Grant and Rev. James D. O’Shea officiating.
