Burley E. Daniels, Sr.
Burley E. Daniels, Sr. 82, of Springfield, died at 6:20 am, Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Sunny Acres, Petersburg, IL. He was born February 18, 1935, in Monmouth, IL to Thomas and Imogene (Friend) Daniels, and they preceded him in death. He married Caryol Wages on October 25, 1952, and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Donna Daniels of Springfield, Julie Tisdale (companion Lynn Baskett) Jonesboro, TN, three sons, Burley “Ed” (LaDonna) Daniels, Jr. of Panama City Beach, FL, Mark (Rhonda) Daniels of Rochester, and Rock (Sherry) Daniels of Springfield, 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from Purity Baking Company (Sunbeam Bread) after many years of service. He was a member of Clear Lake Church of Christ. He loved gardening, metal detecting, electronics, fishing and dogs, and spending time with his family and friends.
Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Friday, November 24, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Friday, November 24, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Jim Hibbett officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
