Bryan ‘Keith’ Saling
SPRINGFIELD – Bryan Keith Saling, 60, of Springfield died at 8:04 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 8, 1949, in Bono, Ark., the son of Jennings and Wanda Welch Saling. He married Cathy Cordier on July 1, 1972. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Jennifer.
Mr. Saling had been a resident of Springfield since 1992. Prior to that, he lived in Orange, Calif. He was a warehouse man for Capitol Plumbing and Heating since 1996.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was very involved in coaching Little League. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and canoeing.
Surviving are his wife, Cathy J. Saling; a daughter, Lori Saling (companion, Chris Avart) of Springfield; three sons, Gregory (Kari) Saling of Sherman, Jason Saling of Bloomington, Ind., and Scott Saling of Kenosha, Wis.; two grandchildren, Cayden Saling and Brayden Saling; half sister, Terry Lynn Steuber-Gibson of Colton, Calif.; a brother, Terry (wife, Laura) Saling of Waterford, Mich.; four nieces; a nephew; eight great-nieces and nephews; mother and father-in-law, George and Dorothy Cordier; one sister-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Wehner officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
