Brian D. Brinker
Brian D. Brinker, 50, of Springfield, died at 8:38 pm, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1964 in Jacksonville, to Robert W. and Marilyn DeShasier Brinker. He married Dawn Proctor on October 14, 1989 and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Morgan, Paige and Riley Brinker all of Springfield; his parents, Robert and Marilyn Brinker of Murrayville; twin sister, Brenda (Jerry) Daily of Murrayville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doug and Judy Proctor of Phoenix, AZ; one brother-in-law, Rodd (Kerrie) Proctor of Phoenix, AZ; one sister-in-law, Tara (Barry) Larson of Queen Creek, AZ and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brian was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was employed by the State of Illinois as a Bureau Chief at the Department of Healthcare and Family Services and worked for the State of Illinois since 1986 in various positions. He graduated from Jacksonville High School and also graduated from Illinois College in Jacksonville in 1986.
He enjoyed watching his girls play sports and spending time with his family. He was a Cardinal Fan and enjoyed playing baseball from Jr. High through college.
Memorial Gathering: 4-7 pm, Friday, September 12, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 4 pm.
Additional Gathering: 10-11 am Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Memorial Mass: 11 am, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating
Private burial will take place at a later date at St. John’s Cemetery in Carrollton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bank of Springfield for an Education Fund for his Children or to Blessed Sacrament School.
