He was a Angel sent from heaven for a short time...I saw him at the Academy not long ago and he hugged me and said if you need anything while you are in Springfield let me know, because your daughter (Dach one of his Honore Guards) would be angry with him if he didn't take care of me. Good bye my friend you will be missed

I worked with Leggett at IYC Bootcamp. He was the best person I have ever worked with anywhere! We shared a compassion for working with the cadets. HE WAS THE BEST. My heart goes out to all that loved him.

We send our heartfelt condolences to Cecelia and all of Anthony's family--blood, church and anyone who ever was blessed to meet him. He lit a luminary for me years ago at a Relay for Life and continued to light up the life of so very many. We look forward to when we will meet again on the other side and will celebrate his life in particular every year when we commemorate Tom's birthday on January 21st. We send out so much love to all in his name. Judy and Tom

Anthony was a great mentor to me, in not only my work as a correctional officer, but life in general. I am blessed to have served with him for 13 years on the state honor guard team. He is the essence of what it meant to be a honorable man. We will all miss you....brother.

I met Anthony 6 years ago when I was getting started in Corrections. I have, and probably never will, meet a man who was more true to himself and those around him. I'll always remember that big smile and shining personality.

Our love one Anthony left a gaping hole when he was taken away. But in our hearts we will hold him near . The healing of grief does take time as we was unprepared . We will remember all the good times we shared . Heaven has now got our precious angel who brought joy too all of our hearts . I love you sis and may God continue to keep you strong and covered by his blood . Iris Mc Queen

Anthony saved my son from a future no mother would choose for her child, but he did not stop there. His kindness and his generosity blessed our lives. His faith and his strength of spirit have moved us to be better. We will carry him with us always. I found peace this morning in a song "I can only imagine, what will my heart feel, will I dance for you Jesus, or in awe of you he still. Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall? Will I sing alleluia, will I be able to speak at all?". I found myself wondering which he did and realized, probably none of them. He probably said, I'm ready, put me to work.

Anthony had a soft spot for troubled youth. Once he spent the day with a visiting nephew who was having a hard time and gave him encouragement. I met Anthony when he was just looking into the Church, and I'm not at all surprised that he became a Bishop. He had the compassion, humility and dedication needed for such a calling. His faith and fortitude during his battle with cancer will always serve as my standard for dealing with adversity.
