Betty M. Sargent
SPRINGFIELD – Betty M. Sargent, 84, of Springfield, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
She was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Virginia, the daughter of William E. and Velda Parrott Greenhalgh. She married Frank L. Sargent in 1970. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Doris Ash and Shirley Jean Greenhalgh; two brothers, Don and Glen Greenhalgh; a son, Danny Wallace; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Sargent had been a resident of Springfield since 1971. She worked at Capital Aviation and Hobbs, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Real Life Church.
Surviving are her husband, Frank L. Sargent; three daughters, Debra (Dave) Danner of Springfield, Judi (Tim) Miller of Springfield and Diane (Leo Butch) Runkel Jr. of Dawson; two sons, Terry D. Wallace of Springfield and Edward L. (Pam) Sargent of Petersburg; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and an aunt, Maxine Sutton.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Following the graveside service, there will be a Celebration of Life Service at noon Monday at Real Life Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Foundation.
