Betty J Alderson

Betty J. Alderson, 81, of Springfield, died at 12:01 pm, Friday, May 4, 2012 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born January 4, 1931 in Cornland, Illinois to Lewis and June Shanle Ramthun. She married William Alderson in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1987.
Her parents; one son, William Alderson and two sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Alderson of Chatham; son, Bruce (Chris) Alderson of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Melanie Alderson of Minooka; granddaughter, Rachel; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Sharp; sister, Carol Ann Scott of Springfield; brother Leroy (Beverly) Ramthun of Cornland and two nephews.
Betty was a member of Elm Street Christian Church. She was a resident of the Springfield-Riverton area most of her life. She retired in 1991 after 25 years with Horace Mann Insurance Company.
Visitation: 11 am – 1 pm, Monday, May 7, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 1 pm, Monday, May 7, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Chaplain Dave Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
