Betty E. Fults
Betty Eileen Fults, 94, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Betty was born April 30, 1923 in Springfield to Ethel Krispin (Morrison) and Frank Roberts. She married John K. Fults on July 18, 1949 at Third Presbyterian Church. He passed away May 23, 1986. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, W. Edward Krispin.
She retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue having previously worked as a school crossing guard for the Springfield Police Department. She also proudly worked at Sangamo Electric as a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII. She was a die-hard Cubs fan. She was very skilled at crocheting, knitting,
embroidering, sewing and quilting. Even as a young girl she won many blue ribbons for her needlework. She also was known for making great fried chicken at family meals.
Betty is survived by three daughters: Gloria Maglone (George (deceased)) of Springfield; Pamela Brockmeyer (Rick) of Raymond; and Rebecca Nutt (David) of Dawson. She was Grandma to seven grandchildren: George, Jr. and Shane Maglone; Jessica (Jesse) James and Joey Brockmeyer; and Jacob (Melissa), Adam, and Sarah Nutt. She also had three great-grandchildren and several cousins, nephews and nieces. She attended Mechanicsburg Christian Church.
A private service will be held. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

My condolence to Gloria, Pamela, Rebecca and your families. I had no idea that Aunt Betty was still living. I have fond memories of both your Mom and Dad.
