Bertha E. Brancato
Bertha “Berte” Brancato, 91, of Springfield, passed away at 7:38 pm, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at her home with her daughters at her side.
She was born in Springfield on March 20, 1922, the daughter of William and Edna Lyons Ruby. She married Sam Brancato on February 24, 1946 and he preceded her in death on December 11, 1975.
Berte was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She retired in 2008 after thirty years as secretary at First United Methodist.
Surviving are her daughters, Dianne “Annie” Pasikov of Boulder, CO and Susan (Marvin) Beard of Springfield; her grandsons, Michael Pasikov of Vancouver, British Columbia, Aaron (Melissa) Beard of Sherman, David (Sarah) Beard of Springfield and Steven Beard of Springfield; four great granddaughters, Maia Pasikov, Zoey Beard and Layna and Alexandra Beard and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: 9-11 am, Monday, July 15, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, July 15, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend William Burton officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church.
