Benjamin Henry Kruger, Jr., 76 of Athens, died at 10:57 am, Thursday, December 3, 2015, at his home. He was born April 17, 1939 in Springfield, to Benjamin Henry and Mollie Beck Kruger, Sr. He married Dori Arata on August 6, 2008 and she survives.

Also surviving are two children, William “Billy” (Tami) Kruger of Waverly and Lisa (Matt) Sims of Springfield; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Matheis of Springfield and Bonnie (Don) Sue Boyce of Rochester and two nieces, Cassidy Fischer and Rebecca Lay and he found great comfort in his two dogs, Cooper and Daisy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Benjamin Kruger, III; four sisters, Helen, Dorothy, Norma and Marjorie; three brothers, Kenneth, Raymond and Richard and one infant brother.

Benjamin was a graduate of Lanphier High School and was a US Air Force veteran. He was a pilot and a member of the IBEW. He was a loving father and a great lover of animals and nature. He was a master of all trades and was creative, ingenious and resourceful.

Visitation: 5-7 pm, Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.

Private family Services will be held.
