Bela Sator, Jr.
Bela Sator, Jr. 80, of Dawson, died at 2:45 pm, Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy. He was born February 12, 1936 in Hungary, to Bela Sator, Sr. and Antonia Pizer Sator. He married Delores A. Stanberry on July 23, 1966 and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Agnes (Adam) Mrozowski of Springfield and Stephanie (Ryan) Dodge of Humboldt; one son, James (Cheryl) Sator of Dawson; five granddaughters; three grandsons, one brother-in-law, Louis Szabo of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Antonia Szabo.
Bela was a US Army veteran. He retired as owner/operator of Sator Trucking.
He was a member of St. Cabrini Church; Knights of Columbus Council 4179, 3rd and 4th degree and served on the Honor Guard. He enjoyed working in his shop and was a former Soccer referee and coach.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Staab Funeral home with a Prayer Service at 4 pm.
Lie-in-State: 9:30 – 10 am, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Cabrini Church.
Memorial Mass: 10 am, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Cabrini Church with Monsignor John Ossola officiating. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
