Barbara A. Rehwald, 80, of Mechanicsburg, died at 3:20 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her home. She was born July 16, 1931, in Springfield, to Charles and Helen Coons Blumle. She married Wilbert Rehwald on February 11, 1955 and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters Gale (Jeff) Reynolds of Paxton and Mary (Bud) Clayton of Mt. Auburn; one son, Charles L. (Susie) Rehwald of Mechanicsburg; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one more on the way and two sisters, Charlotte Blumle of Springfield and Mary Blumle of Mechanicsburg.
Barbara was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She worked as a business office supervisor for Illinois Bell Telephone Company; a legal secretary for William Cavanaugh, elementary school secretary for the Tri City Schools and was also a homemaker.
Memorial Service: The family will be hosting a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Thomas Christell and Reverend Juli Lejman-Guy officiating. A private family burial was held at Rochester Cemetery.
The family request memorial contributions be made to Grace Lutheran Church Trust Fund or to St. John’s Hospice.
