Barbara Dianne Vose, 73, of Springfield, died at 12:01 am, Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at her home. She was born June 15, 1939 in Casper, WY to Harry Glenn and Malou Geraldine Shepard Smith. She married James R. Vose on August 31, 1958 and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2012.

Her parents and three brothers, Raymond L. Craig, Jr., Clarence C. “Pat” Craig and Thomas Laverne Smith also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Dennis) McQuinn of Springfield; two sons, Steven J. (Kristi) Vose of Illiopolis and Thomas R. Vose of Springfield; six grandchildren, Cory Rawlings, Whitney McQuinn, Jordan Vose, Graham Vose, Brayton Vose and Chloe Vose; several brothers and sisters – in-laws; many nieces and nephews and her Schnauzer, Wally.

Barbara was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends. She retired in 2001 from the State of Illinois Division of Mines and Minerals.

Visitation: 10 am – 12 pm, Monday, May 6, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 12 pm, Monday, May 6, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Monsignor Thomas Holinga officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Home Hospice Program or to the American Cancer Society.
