Audrey Fleck Knight
Audrey Fleck Knight, 87, of Springfield, died at 11:15 am, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Home. She was born December 19, 1927 in Springfield to Frank and Anastasia Müller Fleck, Sr. She married George W. Knight, Jr. on April 7, 1952 and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2007.
Survivors include three children: George (Melissa Bird) W. Knight III of Auburn, Douglas (Laura Blackorby) Knight of Springfield and Sheryl A. (Randy Knight) Knight of Sebastopol, CA; seven grandchildren: George W. IV, Thomas A., Olivia H., Andrew D., Audrey E., Natalie E., and Camille F., and two sisters: Bertha Lederle and Lorraine Fleck, both of Springfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four sisters: Clara Dolenc, Marguerite Schmidt, Bernadine Haley and Dorothy McCarty; and brother, Frank “Bud” Fleck.
Audrey was a life-long resident of Springfield and a member of the Church of the Little Flower. She was the owner/operator of Knight’s Action Park, Splash Kingdom Water Park and Route 66 Drive-In Theater. She was a neighborhood chairman for many years, head of the Little Flower Girl Scout Troops and a previous member of the Springfield Association of Realtors. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 pm.
Funeral Mass: 10 am, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Church of the Little Flower with Father John Nolan officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

My sister and I met with Audrey on a family history research trip to Springfield. Audrey was my Dad's first cousin. Audrey was a most gracious host, and we so enjoyed our visit with her. Rest in peace Audrey.
