Anne H. Bishop
SPRINGFIELD – Anne Holderread Bishop, 83, of Springfield passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born at home in Litchfield, on Nov. 20, 1924, to Mary and Fred Holderread. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1941 and graduated as an honor student from St. Louis Business School in 1942.
She married Thomas Burke Bishop on Jan. 29, 1945, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Alexandria, La. After moving back to Litchfield, she was the secretary at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The family moved to Springfield in 1958.
She was a former Realtor, former member of Springfield Women’s Association of Golf, a multiple club champion at Oakcrest Country Club and a member of DAR (Sgt. Caleb Hopkins Chapter).
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; and husband, Thomas.
She is survived by her children, Barb Long (husband, Rich) of Chatham, Beth Bishop Perrigo (husband, Steve) of Franklin, Wis., Thomas (wife, Michele) of Boulder, Colo., and Jim (wife, Paula) of Springfield; grandchildren, Matt Perrigo (fiancee, Danielle Weiss) of Winona, Minn., Simone Bishop Leonard, Chris Perrigo (wife, Jill) of Wayzata, Minn., Tiffany Cochran of Glen Carbon, Emily Kiriakos of Fort Collins, Colo., and Audrey Cochran of Springfield; and great-grandchildren, Isabella and Eleanor Perrigo.
Services will be conducted at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Protective League.
