Anna Marie "Dolly" Nika
Anna Marie “Dolly” Nika, 86, of Springfield, IL, died at 2:14 pm, on April 22, 2017, at John’s Hospital. She was born January 25, 1931 in Springfield to August and Anna (Ciesla) Nika. Surviving are two sisters: Lois (Gene) Cory of Rochester, Helen Branham of Springfield, sister-in-law Mary Carol Nika of New Berlin; 3 brothers: Bob (Gloria) Nika, Paul (Judy) Nika, and Jack (Ann) Nika, all of Springfield, special goddaughter, Susan Bacher, twenty-three nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Leona Tertel, brother, Fred Nika, brother-in-law, Merle Branham, and one niece, Lisa Page.
Dolly was a lifelong resident of Springfield and a member of Third Presbyterian Church. She worked for 40 years in the bake lab for Pillsbury Mills until 1991. After retirement she worked as a food demonstrator for Sam’s, and volunteered at the Sangamon Auditorium.
Visitation: 5 – 7 pm, Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Dr. Joseph Eby officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Third Presbyterian Church.
