Ann Marie Mitrione, 102, of Springfield, died on Sunday, May 5, 2020 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. She was born October 28, 1917, in Springfield, the daughter of Andrew and Catherine Hric Mattis. She married Joseph Mitrione on April 25, 1946 and he preceded her in death November 17, 1997.

Also preceding her in death are her parents; daughter, Carol Ann Mitrione; two brothers, John and Andy Mattis; and three sisters, Mary Edwards, Catherine Lukitis, and Helen Mattis.

Ann is survived by three daughters, Joanie Suter of Springfield, Patty (Frank) Richardson of Springfield, and Carole Marie Stewart of Kenosha, WI; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Ann was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She belonged to St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She worked at Bergner’s Department Store in the sales department, retiring after 20 years.

Private Funeral Mass was held at St. Aloysius Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
