Amelia R. Fleck
SPRINGFIELD – Amelia R. Fleck, 79, of Buffalo, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at her home.
She was born April 11, 1930, in Sangamon County, the daughter of Lambert and Helena Burg Fleck Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Karl, Raymond, Henry and Lambert Pete Fleck Jr.; three sisters, Edith Fields, Irene Fleck and Delores Patrick.
Miss Fleck was a lifelong resident of Buffalo. She was self employed in farming.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Buffalo, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and a member of Sangamon County Homemakers Home Extension. She was a 2001 Farm Bureau Farm Woman of the Year with her sister Irene. She enjoyed baking, cooking and visiting with family and friends.
Surviving are three sisters, Helen Steele of Buffalo, Leona (Peter) Bakken of Kenney and Cecelia Peters of New Berlin; two brothers, George (Pat) Fleck of Sherman and Frederick (Teeny) Fleck of Riverton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home with prayers at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. James Church in Riverton with the Rev. Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials to the Franciscan Brothers of the Holy Cross at St. James Monastery or St. Francis Convent of Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis.
