Alma Ruth Richardson
Alma Ruth Richardson, 83, of Chatham, died at 10:00 pm, Friday, April 29, 2011 at Sunrise Manor in Virden. She was born December 11, 1927 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Joseph and Mary Arnold Wilson. She married Robert Eugene Richardson on March 28, 1947 and he preceded her in death on November 10, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Alma is survived by 9 children: Linda (Larry) Novak of Glenarm, Ronald (Faye) Richardson of Chatham, Beverly (Charlie) Treat of Waverly, John “Chip” (Kathy) Richardson of Springfield, Jim Richardson of Atlanta, GA, Clyde (Vicki) Richardson of Springfield, Stephen Richardson of Springfield, Richard Richardson of Chatham, David (Jolynne) Richardson of Taylorville; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alma was a resident of Chatham for most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Chatham Christian Church.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor. Rick Wenneborg officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
