Alma Mae Richardson
SPRINGFIELD – Alma Mae Richardson , 84, of Springfield died at 2:34 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born Aug. 18, 1923, in Springfield, the daughter of Clifford and Lena Ingram Van Bebber. She married Lloyd Bit Richardson, Jr. on Feb. 14, 1941; he preceded her in death on July 11, 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, Judie Kerr and Jill (husband, Mike) Christofilakos, both of Springfield; three sons, Steven (wife, Judy) Richardson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kirk (wife, Beverly) Richardson of Aurora, Colo., and Craig (wife, Sharon) Richardson of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Denise Larson, Erik Richardson, Stephanie Watts, Alan Richardson, Craig Richardson Jr., Heather Richardson and Dylan Cristofilakos; a stepgrandson, Larry Gabriel;
nine great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Blake of Macomb; two brothers, Gilbert Dutch Van Bebber of Springfield and Maurice (wife, Mary) Van Bebber of Branson, Mo.; and
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a lifelong resident of Springfield.
She worked at St. Nicholas Hotel as a banquet waitress. She also worked at Forum 30, the Hilton, Renaissance Hotel and the Northfield Center. She was a member of Cherry Hills Baptist Church and a past member of Springfield Motor Boat Club. She enjoyed waterskiing, traveling and walking.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Nelsen officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
