BUFFALO – Allene Arney, a resident of Buffalo for most of her life, died at 5:53 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Buffalo.
She was born May 15, 1917, in Eubank, Ky., the daughter of Wallace and Susie Surber Owens. She married Joseph P. Arney on June 16, 1939. He preceded her in death.
Her parents, a brother and a sister also preceded her in death.
She worked for Herdon’s department store for six years, was a realtor for Caldwell Banker for 20 years, worked for Buffalo Bank for 20 years and was formerly an operator of an antique store.
She was a member of First Methodist Church and American Business Women’s Club and was an avid shopper.
Allene is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Owens of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Hanson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home.
Burial will be held at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
