Alan Dale Reynolds
SPRINGFIELD – Alan Dale Reynolds, 69, of Springfield died at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at the family farm in Pope County.
He was born April 26, 1939, in Herod, the son of Iley A. and Wilma Fulkerson Reynolds. He married Martha L. Gibbs on March 28, 1959.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jerry Leon Reynolds.
Mr. Reynolds, a resident of Springfield since 1959, formerly of rural Herod, worked for the secretary of state Department of Business Services for 40 years, retiring as chief deputy. He was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the TRN Club, where he was past president and past chairman of the board and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 437. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing and was his grandchildren’s No. 1 fan at their sporting events.
Surviving are his wife, Martha L. Reynolds of Springfield; daughter, Debbie (Patrick) Giacomini of Springfield; son, Doug (Mindy) Reynolds of Springfield; five grandchildren, Heather (John) Kabbes, Josh Reynolds, and Hannah, Sarah and Amy Giacomini; a sister, Joyce (Lowell Glenn) Willis of Pleasant Plains; sister-in-law, Jane Reynolds of Eddyville; an aunt, Bernice Fulkerson of Eddyville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Services will be held there at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, with Dr. John Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
