PAWNEE – Ajax Jack, 56, of Pawnee died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born July 5, 1952, in Springfield, the son of Earl L. and Mildred Shelly Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard and Donnie Jack.
Mr. Jack, a resident of Springfield most of his life, worked at Memorial Medical Center as a housekeeper. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his former wife, Sylvia Leach of Springfield; a daughter, Jamie (husband, Jeff) Scott of Pawnee; a son, Robert Jack of Springfield; five grandchildren, Breanna, Ashlei, Kobe, Kali and Elizabeth; four sisters, Patricia Beaver of Springfield, Phyllis (husband, Willie) Carroll of Kentucky, Glenda Chapman of Springfield and Cindy Jack of Peoria; seven brothers, Harold (wife, Lorraine) Jack of Springfield, Robert Jack of Georgia, William Jack and Dennis (wife, Sharon) Jack, both of Springfield, Ronnie Jack of Florida, Terry (wife, Rosemary) Jack of Dawson and Dwayne Jack of California; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Prince officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
