SPRINGFIELD – Agnes F. Biderbost passed into eternal life at 7:45 p.m. at home on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, surrounded by family.

She was born in Belleville on April 29, 1912, to Peter and Clara Heaman Zink. She married Otto W. Biderbost on June 8, 1937, at Blessed Sacrament Church. He died June 12, 1979.

A resident of Springfield since childhood, Agnes was in the first graduating class of Blessed Sacrament School and a 1930 graduate of Ursuline Academy. She was employed for many years at St. John’s Hospital and had worked at Illinois National Insurance and Bergner’s, from which she retired in 1979. She also had been the volunteer CCD coodinator at St. Peter & Paul’s Church. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the St. Agnes Altar Society, the Third Order of St. Dominic and a former member of St. Peter & Paul’s Church.

Agnes enjoyed all of nature – the birds, her flower garden and all animals, especially her pet cats. She loved music and loved to dance. But most of all, she loved her family. She was a wonderful mom, grandma and great-grandma, and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; three sisters; a grandson, Mark Andrew Klemm; and a great-granddaughter, Grace Xamis.

Agnes is survived by her daughters, Sister M. Angelene, O. P., and Susan (husband, John) Klemm, both of Springfield and Kathleen Xamis of Quincy; her son, William (wife, Joanne) of Evanston; her grandchildren, Ann Biderbost of Chicago, Kate Biderbost of Evanston, Cynthia Klemm Vivian (husband John) of Woodbridge, Va., Stephen Klemm of Springfield, Kevin Klemm of Champaign, Jocelyn and Stephanie Xamis of Savannah, Ga., and Laura Xamis of Quincy; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Claire and Mark Vivian of Woodbridge, Va., and Caleb Xamis Callen, of Savannah, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Animal Protective League, Msgr. Patrick Wright Scholarship Fund c/o Sacred Heart-Griffin H. S., or the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter, P.O Box 5489, Chicago, IL 60680-5489.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, by the Reverend Robert Jallas at St. Agnes Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
