Norma J. Parrish
Norma J. Parrish, 82, of Springfield, died peacefully at St. John’s Hospital on October 6, 2015. She was a pillar of strength for her family up to the very end, never wavering from her faith. She was born on May 27, 1933 in Spaulding, Illinois to Frank and Georgia Warren Antonacci. She married Frank Parrish on July 27, 1951 and he preceded her in death on May 20, 2013.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn (Jim) Sudduth and Lisa Parrish; three sons, Michael (Judy) Parrish, Keith Parrish and Jeffrey Parrish all of Springfield; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Stone of Bloomington and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Patricia Herman; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Norma was a member of Calvary Church. She was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and a love for cooking, fishing and working her crossword puzzles. She was an avid Cardinal fan and enjoyed bird watching, spending time with her family and her faithful companion, Precious.
Visitation: 8:30 – 10 am, Monday, October 12, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Monday, October 12, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
