Robert L. Hunsley, 86, of Springfield, died at 8:39 pm, Monday, November 27, 2017 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. He was born August 4, 1931 in Edinburg to Francis and Frances Smith Hunsley. He married Kathryn Emma Klespitz on February 11, 1961 and she preceded him in death on June 17, 1998.

Also preceding him in death are one daughter, Tammy Scupham and two sisters, Rosalie Hooper and Shirley Lyles.

Survivors include one son, Tim (Melinda) Hunsley of Springfield; one son-in-law, James Scupham of Springfield; six grandchildren, Andrea (Joshua) Young, Kathryn Scupham, Lindsay (James) Brunner, David (Courtney) Hunsley, Julie Hohimer and Jessica Hohimer; ten great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Kingsley, Brooklyn, Sabrina, Olivia, Adam, Landon, Mylles, Madilynn and Ava; one sister-in-law, Judy (Rich) Krider of Rochester; two brothers-in-law, Don Hooper of Edinburg and Wayne Lyles of Reno, NV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War as a first line medic.

Visitation: 10:30 am – 12 pm, Friday, December 1, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Graveside Service: 12:30 pm, Friday, December 1, 2017 at Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Bennie Fisher officiating. The United States Army will conduct military honors.
