Richard "Larry" Roberts
Richard Larry Roberts, 74, of Mt. Pulaski died at 7:45 pm, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Illinois Veterans’ Home in Quincy, IL. He was born September 14, 1943 in Lincoln, IL to Richard Lee and Margaret (Herron) Roberts. He married Cheryl Morris on March 7, 1964.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl; two sons, James Roberts of Springfield and Jeremy (Wendi) Roberts of Mt. Pulaski; two grandchildren, Madaline and Logan Roberts
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Lee and Otto William Roberts and two sisters Emma Jean Whitacre and Rose Binkley.
Larry was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam from September 1968 to August 1969. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1961 and worked most recently at Korethe Custom Seed.
He enjoyed collecting toy farm tractors and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Graveside Service: 11 am, Monday, October 9, 2017 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Smile.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Illinois Veterans Home for the excellent care and kindness shown to Larry and his family.
