Evan A. DePoy
Evan A. DePoy, 23, of Sherman, died at 2:45am on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. He was born May 31, 1995.
Survivors include his parents, Tony DePoy and Valerie (Tom, Jr.) Hollinshead; two sisters, Jessica DePoy and Lauren Hollinshead; three brothers, TJ (Amber) DePoy, Trey Hollinshead, Ty Hollinshead and; grandparents, Terry (Kathleen) Schou; aunts and uncles, Kevin Roberts, Robin Roberts, Terry (Paula) Schou, Sheryl (Doug) Ezel and Mike (Lanina) Clark; one nephew, Beckham DePoy; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Karen Hamilton and JoAnn Roberts. Along with his best friend, Jordan Austin, whom he will be laid to rest next to at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
Evan was a resident of Sherman. He attended Glenwood High School and was attending Lincoln Land Community College for welding. He worked at his family owned Dairy Queen in Auburn, as well as his family owned 1 Stop Auto Shop.
Evan loved BMX racing, motocross, motorcycles, and anything car related. He enjoyed rugby, soccer, and loved his pets.
Evan touched many lives and never knew a stranger; his smile would light up the room.
Visitation: 5 – 8 pm, Friday, August 10, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
