Corinne F. "Corky" Kruger
Corinne “Corky” F. Kruger, 90, of Springfield, died at 6:57am on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Villa East in Sherman, IL. She was born on August 16, 1927 in Springfield to Herman Walter and Anna Kurniskie Jallas. She married Raymond C. Kruger on December 9, 1945 and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jean VonBehren, one grandson, Brandon and one great-grandson, Riley.
Survivors include her six children, Terry Paul (Carol) Kruger of Boulder, CO, Ronald James (Kelly) Kruger of Athens, Janet Lynn “Peach” Kruger of Grand Junction, CO, Benjamin “Beng” Raymond (Margaret) Kruger of Springfield, Ricky Joseph (Tammy) Kruger of Springfield, and David Randolph (Bonnie) Kruger of Springfield; twenty grandchildren, and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Corky was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church. She was a homemaker, raising her children, later becoming a clerk in retail.
She enjoyed baking, playing softball in her youth, bowling and in her in later year, tennis while living in Florida. She loved shelling at Sanibel Island, where she enjoyed growing orchids, roses, and other various flowers as well as tending to her garden.
Memorial Gathering: 12 – 3 pm, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
A private burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
