Charles W. Tackett
Charles W. Tackett, 73, of Mechanicsburg, died at 2:20 pm, Thursday, August 2, 2018 at his home. He was born on December 1, 1944 in Eagle Pass, TX to William Edward and Wilma (Williams) Tackett. He married Sandy A. Meyer on November 20, 1965 and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Amy (Mike) Hoehner of Crosby, TX and their children Colton and Cade; one son, Todd (Melissa) Tackett of Monticello and their children Payton and Jacob; one sister; Donna (Loren) Fleming of Belleville; four brothers, Dennis (Pam) Tackett of Springfield, Richard (Sabrina) Tackett of Shobonier, William (Pat) Tackett of Virden, and Toby (Barb) Tackett of Brownstown; and several nieces nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Randy Tackett.
Charles was a resident of Mechanicsburg since 2006 formerly of Houston, TX and Monticello, IL. He retired from AT&T after 33 years of service.
Charles was a Unites States Army National Guard Veteran serving during 1965-1971.
He was a Ford car enthusiast and enjoyed gardening, his yard work and spending time with friends and family.
Family will host a memorial gathering from 10 am – 11:30 am with a memorial service at 11:30 am, Monday, August 6, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Riverton with Pastor Michael Koschmann officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
