Betty J. Carver, 92, of Springfield died at 8:00 am, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born October 25, 1925 in Springfield to Earl W. and May (Downing) Ward. She married Norman L Carver on October 1, 1949 and he preceded her in death on October 11, 2010.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews: Bert (Donna) Kincaid, Kay (Mike) Cantrall, Estelle, Terry, Cathy, Alex (Dana) and Jolene Lyons and Bernie Carver.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary L. Kincaid and one nephew; Larry Lyons.

Betty retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company in 1983.
She attended South Tower Community Church and was a member of Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed her animals and was an advocate for animal rights.

Visitation: 9:30 – 10:30 am Monday, January 15, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Monday, January 15, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Charlie Carver officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to South Tower Community Church or the Animal Protective League.
